FOUR ERRANDS IN ONE DAY? IS IT POSSIBLE?

A little bit more to add about shopping in Panama.  Before Ray and I left Panama City, we went into the Panafoto store (think Best Buy in the States) to look at computer printers.  We found an HP printer with fax, copy and scan capabilities for $80.  In Costco, it was priced at $90.  It was opened, checked and then taped back up.  We found printer paper not with the printers in El Machetazo, but with the school supplies upstairs.  We have successfully printed, scanned and copied with this machine.

Today two big items we bought were a scale ($11 digital with lbs and kg--I like my weight in kg better haha) along with the crockpot.  Behind the counter, not one or two but three cashiers (one looked managerial to me) opened up the box, took out the crockpot, showed us the inside bowl and lid, we nodded and I exclaimed "muy bonita" (we will make the crockpot feminine in this case), since it was so new, shiny and black, and then they put the crockpot back in the box and taped it up.  The crockpot works (I turned it on, and it warmed up).  The box the scale was in was opened up, the directions that had fallen out (it was not taped up very well) were put back in the box, and if the scale was looked over, I wasn't paying attention at this point.  I get home to pull the tab away from the battery (we had made sure there was a battery inside), and there was no tab.  The battery finally manages to be removed by Ray (difficult task because you don't want to break the contact of the tab that holds that battery down), and we find the battery is just dead.  Without the tab there, the battery ran dead.  The scale doesn't work.  To return a product in Panama is hit, but mostly miss.  This is why they check and recheck.  And going to this mall is a long drive if they really don't take back the scale, so tomorrow we will go to the store in the shopping center where the dental clinic is and hope to find a battery for the scale.  This will be errand number four for the day.  That might be three too many errands to try and accomplish in one day in Panama.
